Projects

Camperdown Wildlife Centre is one of the zoos linked to the Association Européenne pour l'Etude et la Conservation des Lémuriens (AEECL). The association is made up of a group of European zoological gardens and universities, that have joined forces to carry out conservation and research projects for Madagascar's highly endangered lemurs. Members help to raise money, provide information and captive manage some of the world's endangered lemur species.

The member zoos have furthermore initiated captive breeding programmes for the blue-eyed Black Lemur, Crowned Lemur and the Red-Bellied Lemur (which you can see at Camperdown) within the framework of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).
